APPRAISER: We can recognize who the artist was# who made this engraved powder horn by the motifs,## and they fall into a body of work called the# Tansel family powder horn carvers.
And originally,## Francis Tansel came from France in 1799, and he# settled in Kentucky, but moved to Indiana in 1829.
GUEST: Hm.
APPRAISER: And in Indiana, they were farmers, making powder horns to supplement their# farming income.
We're gonna date this powder## horn to about 1840.
We're gonna put a retail# value today in the $6,500 to $7,500 range.
GUEST: That's nice to know.
It# will be with the family forever.
