The Senate passed the 2026 budget, while the House rejected a pay raise for the Governor.
The Senate passed the FY ‘26 budget, HB 68. Their version includes increases for the state prison system and private school vouchers, but cuts 28 million from the House’s proposed “disadvantaged students fund.” House Speaker Jon Burns held a press conference after the final passage of HB 428, codifying protections for in vitro fertilization, saying “It’s a great day to care about our families.”
