Tart cherries have a short picking season here in Iowa. At Allen’s Orchard in Marion, Iowa, the orchards are packed as folks harvest cherries before the picking window closes. Chef Terrie Kohl from Country Club Market in central Iowa uses both fresh and dried cherries to cook up flavorful dishes in our studio kitchen, including a cherry amaretto French cake.
