This segment examines the differences between white and black women during this time. While white women focused exclusively on suffrage, black women had the intersection of race and sex to juggle. In response, Jeffrey established women’s clubs in Rochester. Later she befriended Anthony, who believed that Southern states would not support their cause if black women were involved in an obvious way.
