(bright upbeat music) In America, (upbeat music) the term polling place refers to the building, while polling station refers to the specific room or area where voting happens.
So a school might be your polling place, but the gymnasium is the polling station.
While many states still use voting booths, others offer mail-in voting options.
Research shows that long lines can even keep people from casting their vote.
So the goal is to make voting easier and more available to everyone that is eligible.
So while I can't help you find that other sock, I can help you find your polling place.
In New York, visit voterlookup.elections.ny.gov.
Remember, your vote is your voice, so make sure you are prepared and know where to cast your ballot.
